B2S server not installed

Technical code : B2S_SERVER_MISSING

What it means

No backglass will display for any table at all — the piece that renders them isn't installed.

Why it happens

Backglass files were copied in, and/or scripts try to use them, but B2S Backglass Server itself — the program that actually opens and draws them — was never installed and registered.

How Pincab Toolbox detects it

The free scanner checks the following:

Backglass files or scripts referencing B2S exist, but no B2S Backglass Server binary is found anywhere under the install.

What to do

  1. B2S Server is the program that shows the backglass, the top screen of your cab. Without it, tables start but the top screen stays black.
  2. Download "B2S Server" (also called BackglassServer) from vpuniverse.com, Downloads section.
  3. Close Visual Pinball and PinUP Popper.
  4. Extract the archive, then RIGHT-CLICK each extracted .exe and .dll, choose Properties, and tick "Unblock" at the bottom if offered. Windows blocks files from the internet by default.
  5. Run the provided installer (usually "B2SBackglassServerInstaller.exe") and keep the default options.
  6. Run a new Pincab Toolbox scan. If the line stays, the installer could not register the component: run it again with right-click, "Run as administrator".
