Same joystick button for several VPX actions

Technical code : VPX_JOY_BUTTON_SHARED

What it means

The same joystick button number is assigned to several actions in VPX's settings. This may be intentional.

Why it happens

In VPX's legacy settings format (10.7 and earlier, in the Windows registry), every action whose button number matches runs when that button is pressed. The scan does not report a button shared only between coin and credit actions, or only between the plunger and the lockbar. The VPX 10.8.1 format (INI file) is not read.

How to fix it

If one button is not meant to trigger several actions, assign one of those actions to another button in VPX's key settings. Otherwise there is nothing to do.

How Pincab Toolbox detects it

The free scanner checks the following:

At least two joystick actions in VPX's legacy settings format (Windows registry, "HKCU\Software\Visual Pinball\VP10\Player") have the same nonzero button number, and no standard VPX 10.8 "VPinballX.ini" file is present. The scan changed nothing.
