64-bit Serum colorization missing
What it means
Your colorized DMDs will stay monochrome while this file is missing.
Why it happens
This file comes from a third-party project: we check that it is present and correct, but we never supply it.
How Pincab Toolbox detects it
A 64-bit Visual Pinball and a 32-bit serum.dll are present, but no serum64.dll next to VPinMAME.
What to do
Your 64-bit Visual Pinball is installed, and you have the 32-bit Serum colorization, but not its 64-bit version (serum64.dll). Your colorized DMDs fall back to monochrome when a table starts from 64-bit VPX.
- If you do not use any Serum colorization, this line does not concern you: ignore it.
- Otherwise, go to the official Serum project repository (libserum) and take the latest published release.
- Download the archive marked "win-x64" or "64-bit". The 32-bit file you already have will not do, a 64-bit program cannot load it.
- Close Visual Pinball and PinUP Popper.
- Extract, then right-click the file, Properties, "Unblock" if Windows offers it.
- Copy "serum64.dll" into your VPinMAME folder, next to the existing serum.dll. Do not replace the old one: both live side by side, one for 32-bit, one for 64.
- Run a new scan.
