AltColor colorization incomplete
What it means
This table's DMD colorization is missing a file: this colorization does not show.
Why it happens
A .vni animation file only loads with its .pal palette (or the pack's .pac). Here the .vni arrived alone in this ROM's altcolor folder. A Serum file (.cRZ, .cROM) or a .pal work on their own and are never flagged.
How Pincab Toolbox detects it
This ROM's altcolor folder holds a .vni, but no .pal, no .pac and no Serum file (rule read in dmd-extensions and libserum).
What to do
A DMD colorization is installed for this ROM, but a file is missing: a complete colorization needs several files together, not just one.
- Open VPinMAME's "altcolor" folder, then the subfolder named after the ROM. The exact path is in the Diagnostic tab.
- Look at the files there. A .vni needs its .pal (or a .pac) next to it. A Serum file (.cRZ, .cROM) or a .pal work on their own.
- The archive may have been only partly extracted, or a single file copied. Re-download the full colorization pack from wherever you got it.
- Extract ALL files from the archive into the folder named after the ROM. Not into an extra subfolder: the files must sit directly inside.
- Check the folder name matches the ROM name EXACTLY, no extra space or capital.
- Run a new scan.
