Backglass cut off by the ForceDisableB2S registry value

Technical code : B2S_FORCE_DISABLED_REGISTRY

What it means

These tables start without their backglass.

Why it happens

The copy of the loader embedded in the table reads the ForceDisableB2S registry value and never creates the B2S server when it is 1; the « Disable B2S » setting of VPX 10.8 may change only VPinballX.ini (seen on VPX 10.8.0).

How to fix it

Set the registry value ForceDisableB2S to 0, then restart the table: in regedit, open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Visual Pinball\Controller, double-click ForceDisableB2S and enter 0 (or run: reg add "HKCU\Software\Visual Pinball\Controller" /v ForceDisableB2S /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f). With VPX 10.8, switching « Disable B2S » may change only VPinballX.ini and leave this value at 1 (seen on VPX 10.8.0). Playing without a backglass screen? Leave it at 1 and right-click the line, « Ignore this problem type everywhere ».

How Pincab Toolbox detects it

The free scanner checks the following:

The scan looks in each table's script for an embedded copy of the backglass loader that reads the ForceDisableB2S registry value, and checks that the table's .directb2s file is next to it. It reports this only when that registry value is 1 while the settings of Visual Pinball X (VPinballX.ini, and the table's own .ini file if it has one) say B2S is on. It says nothing if there is no VPinballX.ini, if a VPX backglass plugin may be on, if only one screen is connected, or at the slightest doubt.
