Popper start-up file: path not on this PC

Technical code : POPPER_STARTUP_SCRIPT_PATH_MISSING

What it means

RunWindowsStartup.bat, PinUP Popper's start-up file, names folders or programs that are not on this PC. If Windows starts Popper through this file, the line concerned cannot work as written.

Why it happens

RunWindowsStartup.bat is the file PinUP ships next to its database to start Popper with Windows; owners sometimes add their own lines to it. One of those lines names a full path that does not exist on this PC, for example a folder since moved, renamed or deleted. The scan does not check whether Windows really runs this file.

How to fix it

Open RunWindowsStartup.bat (in the PinUP Popper folder) with Notepad: correct the path on that line so it names the real folder or program on this PC, or put « rem » in front of the line if you no longer use that program. Keep a copy of the file first.

How Pincab Toolbox detects it

The free scanner checks the following:

The scan reads RunWindowsStartup.bat, next to PinUP Popper's database (a file of 64 KB at most). It picks out the folders and programs written with their full path, and reports those whose absence is proven: the drive is there, the folder or file is not. It does not check whether a shortcut to this file sits in the Windows Startup folder. Nothing is changed.

Check your own pincab

Pincab Toolbox is a free Windows scanner for Visual Pinball X and PinUP Popper. It finds and explains problems like this one. No account, no telemetry.
