ROM missing
What it means
VPinMAME cannot run this table's game until the ROM zip is in the roms folder.
Why it happens
VPinMAME looks for one specific .zip file named after the ROM inside its roms folder — if it isn't there (even if an unzipped folder of the same name exists), nothing loads.
How Pincab Toolbox detects it
No .zip file matching the expected ROM name (or any of its known alternates) exists in the roms folder.
What to do
- Note the exact ROM name given in the Pincab Toolbox scan result (e.g. "mm_109c"). One wrong letter and VPinMAME will not find it.
- Find that ROM on a pinball ROM site the community trusts. Pincab Toolbox cannot download it for you: it is copyrighted material, and shipping it would be illegal.
- You need a .zip file. DO NOT EXTRACT IT. VPinMAME reads ROMs straight from the .zip; an extracted folder does not work.
- Check the .zip is named exactly as in step 1 — no "(1)", no "copy", no extra space.
- Drop the .zip into VPinMAME's "roms" folder. Its exact path is shown in the Diagnostic tab, Environment section.
- Run a new scan. The line should disappear. If it stays, the file name does not match: go back to step 4.
